ZUFALL SAVES EMISSIONS AND TRANSPORTS FOR CUSTOMERS IN A CO2-NEUTRAL WAY

Göttingen, May 20th, 2025 – The ZUFALL logistics group is now offering a new sustainable product, thus setting another example for logistics that is fit for future generations. With Premium e, groupage shipments are transported from pickup to delivery in the company’s own local transport area without CO2 emissions. The transport and logistics service provider’s own fleet of electric trucks and loading infrastructure make sustainable transport possible without compensation models.

Electrified fleet and independent charging infrastructure

Sustainable transport is certified for customers via corresponding reports from the audited emissions data platform shipzero. Customers can thus use the data for their sustainability reporting. “With the new Premium e product, we have created a basis for CO2-free transport for our customers and our networks. This puts us in a pioneering role,” explains Stephan Erb, Head of Land Transport Europe and project initiator.

ZUFALL launched the first operational test runs with battery-electric transport vehicles at the end of 2023. Since then, the share of the electric fleet has grown to more than 20% of the company’s own vehicle fleet; 16 electric trucks connect the general cargo locations of Göttingen, Fulda, Eichenzell, Grammetal, and Haiger overnight and take over collection and delivery in the respective production areas of the locations. The charging infrastructure has also been purposefully expanded in recent years to enable decarbonized road transport to be as independent and as safe as possible in the long term. ZUFALL now supplies its electric trucks with electricity from renewable energies at a total of 16 charging points at the five locations. ZUFALL saves around 30 tons of CO2 equivalents per truck per year.

“Premium e is our first emission-free ZUFALL transport product. The test phase in February was very successful, and we are delighted to now be able to officially roll out the product,” reports Mark Glörfeld, Project Manager for Climate-Friendly Transport. In the future, ZU-FALL intends to further expand its range of sustainable transport services and, for example, implement CO2-reduced routes. As a shareholder of NG.network, the project team is also working with partners at the cooperation level to develop appropriate solutions.
