THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING SUSTAINABLE

#weatZUFALL rely on networks to achieve long-term success. This is also the case for the air and sea freight business, where maintaining the good relations with our global network partners is an important part of our routine. After all, we want to know the people and companies who realise our service promise at the many ends of the world.

With this in mind, our ZUFALLers Sven and Dustin flew to New Delhi to attend this year’s CrossTrade Network conference from 22-25 January.

“The Corona period has shown how important it is to maintain personal contact with our customers and partners. It is simply a completely different interpersonal relationship when you get to know the person behind the e-mail and also talk about private topics,” says our ZUFALLer Dustin.

New contact person at ZUFALL

It was Dustin’s first trip for CrossTrade and also his first time as a contact person within the network. Following a proven pattern, Sven is handing over this function to Dustin for further development after the successful implementation of a network. His summary of the trip: “It was super exciting for me to be in one place with so many people from so many parts of the world.”

Enkeltauglichkeit* an international comparison

As a family business with the strategy of making logistics sustainable and mindful, we positioned our favourite topic in the network for the first time. In front of 130 delegates from over 30 countries and all continents, Sven spoke about “the importance of being sustainable” and the changes in the logistics industry in recent decades.

Our word “Enkeltauglichkeit (grandchild suitability)” also found a place in the English presentation. The feedback was consistently positive and gave many people food for thought. At the end of the presentation, there was a quick survey: “Where do you see YOUR company in the journey to grandchild suitability”. The result:

“Many companies around the world have not yet anchored sustainability in their corporate strategy. They are still focussing heavily on economic growth, so sustainability is not at the forefront. At ZUFALL, we are already well advanced in this respect. That makes me proud as a ZUFALLer!” says Sven.

Participation was a success

“We came back with new business opportunities! We’ve had enquiries from partners we had not been in contact with before,” says Dustin.

And things will continue progressing soon, as Dustin will be travelling to Kuala Lumpur in November for the next CrossTrade Congress.

*Enkeltauglichkeit (‘suitability for grandchildren’) means to make sustainable decisions, especially regarding future generations and the environment.
