A vision of the future that won’t come true any time soon, do you think? We at ZUFALL are firmly convinced that it can work. And we have a plan to realise this vision.<\/strong><\/p>

The laundry experiment<\/strong><\/p>

At the end of last year, in December 2022 to be precise, we started an experiment. Together with W\u00e4scherei Meyer<\/a>\u00a0and \u00a0Meyer und Kuhl Spezialw\u00e4schen<\/a> from Hardegsen, we wanted to find out whether laundry and clothing transport within G\u00f6ttingen could be carried out using climate-friendly vehicles instead of diesel-powered lorries.<\/p>

Considered, planned, realised: So-called e-cargobikes were used, i.e. battery-powered cargo bikes with which our drivers could cruise through G\u00f6ttingen’s streets in a flexible and climate-friendly way. The advantage of the cargo bikes is that they are covered and offer all kinds of riding comfort. “It’s really fun to transport goods from A to B on the e-cargo bikes,” says our rider Lena, who is currently riding one of the modern cargo bikes for ZUFALL.<\/p>

What sounds like a leisure activity is actually part of a holistic approach to transport systems the zufall.lab team has come up with. The team has been working for some time on the question of what the logistics of tomorrow could look like.<\/p>

What we know: We need to rethink all areas of our lives to ensure a future that is fit for our grandchildren. The logistics industry is particularly challenged in this respect. At ZUFALL, we take this challenge seriously. We also know that it is a long road that will certainly have one or two hurdles in its way.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Back to the experiment.<\/strong><\/p>

For W\u00e4scherei Meyer and Meyer und Kuhl Spezialw\u00e4schen, transporting laundry on climate-friendly cargo bikes is an attractive service. “Travelling short distances by cargo bike is more environmentally friendly, and we can plan our own vehicle fleet better for road freight. Our environmentally conscious customers are also happy when we deliver fresh laundry to them by bike,” says laundry owner Axel Meyer.<\/p>

The manoeuvrable and climate-friendly cargo bikes from ONO are ideal for regular journeys with manageably sized and less heavy goods such as laundry, clothing, spare parts or vegetable boxes. As already mentioned, the cargo bikes are comfortable to ride, too. The containers can even be pre-packed without packaging. For the efficient use of the e-cargobikes within the city of G\u00f6ttingen, we will be offering a digital platform that can be used to register transport requests with just a few clicks. This will not only save us administrative work. It will also make it easy for our customers to order transport and track it transparently.<\/p>

The start has been made<\/strong><\/p>

We know that we can’t change the entire transport of goods within G\u00f6ttingen at once with just a few e-cargobikes. But we have made a start with this experiment. We are now opening up the service to all interested parties from and around G\u00f6ttingen.<\/p>
