One-year internship for your entry qualification (EQ):
If you haven’t (yet) got the apprenticeship you’ve been longing for, you have the option of doing a one-year internship to make good use of your time. This type of internship lasts between six and twelve months and offers the possibility of an entry qualification (EQ). This means that you will be introduced to a specific vocational training and can then be taken on as an apprentice.
The German Employment Agency (Agentur für Arbeit) funds the internship.
Internship through an educational institution:
This internship is part of a ‘pre-vocational training measure’.
Practical semester:
You’ve already found your degree programme, you’re looking at the module overview and just saw the term ‘practical semester’? Certain internships, such as the practical semester, take place during your study programme. This semester, usually the fifth, is designed to help you start your career after graduating.
